Each legal tender Silver Eagle Dollar was struck at the U.S. Mint under an Act of Congress and is beautifully colorized in a limited edition. (The colorization is added privately because the U.S. Mint is unable to add colorizing to coins.) The coin is struck in one ounce of .999 pure silver, so it is the largest and heaviest silver coin ever struck by the U.S. Mint. It is also the world’s most popular silver bullion coin.
The front of each coin depicts the famous “Walking Liberty” image that symbolizes the United States. The back of each coin features the official color insignia of the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. The original beauty of the Silver Eagle Dollar design can still be seen through the colorizing.
However, just a tiny fraction of Silver Eagle Dollars have been set aside for this special collection, and it is available for a limited time only.
The colorizing is the highest quality in the world and adds a new patriotic dimension to the coin. The colors are life-like, and they are actually impregnated into the coin – so they are a permanent part of the coin. In other words, the colorizing will never fade, chip, or peel.
